1857: SEIGE OF BRITISH RESIDENCY

In the year 1857, during the Indian Rebellion against British rule, the British Residency in Lucknow found itself under siege by rebel forces. The Residency, a grand colonial building, became a symbol of British power and authority in India, and the rebels were determined to bring it down.

Inside the Residency, a small group of British soldiers and civilians, led by the brave Sir Henry Lawrence, prepared to defend themselves against the onslaught. As the rebels closed in, the defenders fought valiantly, using every resource at their disposal to hold off the enemy.

Despite being outnumbered and outgunned, the defenders of the British Residency refused to surrender. Their courage and determination inspired others to join the fight, and eventually, after months of fierce battle, the siege was lifted. The Residency stood as a testament to the resilience and fortitude of those who had defended it, and the memory of their bravery would live on for generations to come.
